A new department store opened in the city, last quarter of last year, selling products all from the United States, including wholesale christmas trees. It was packed with excited people from opening to closing time. Most of the attention were directed towards the fresh Christmas tree. Everyone, children and adult could not resist touching the tree and smelling the leaves. Those that could afford the Christmas tree, were buying two, one for the main room, and the other one for the verandah. Food from the United States together with wine, cheese and imported fruits are sold in the store too. Large shampoos, soap dishes and huge bags of detergent soaps were sold in the store too. Tires were also being sold, with free services of aligning vehicle wheels and replacement if you buy the tires from them. Bed sheets, pillows, mattresses are found in the bedroom section which is my favorite part of the store. But, sad to say is that most of the items in the store are a lot more expensive than the ones you see in other department store. The main reason for this is that all of the items were imported and the all come in bigger portions. There are still a lot of people that goes to the store, despite the fact that it expensive, some just window shop, and others actually buy items, and they buy items that are only found in the store like good cheese. A store that sells good and has wide variety of cheese is hard to find in this city.
